The Fee for Intervention Programme

28/10/2013

Extra cost for thoses who do not comply.

The Health & Safety Executive (H.S.E.) have been running the Fee for Intervention Programme for over a year now but many businesses are still unaware of existence and its implications. In short, if the H.S.E. are the enforcing authority and find a material breach of law during one of their investigations, they can charge the investigated Company £124.00 per hour, to reclaim the cost of the investigation process. In practice this means that enforcement notices such as Improvement and Prohibition Notices can and will cost the Company in real terms as will the investigation process leading up to a prosecution.
