It is a fact of life that many of us at heart are eternal optimists. We often try to remove thoughts of doubt from our mind and carry on with a ‘can do' attitude. The sad fact is that sometimes things can go wrong.

One of the major principles upon which really good Health & Safety management is built, is the removal of luck as a day to day control in our commercial worlds. We must therefore accept that even after our best efforts we might find ourselves in a position where quick, effective and organised emergency actions need to be taken.

As with all other aspects of risk management, to provide this in the aforementioned effective manner, we must plan what our responses are going to be and how we are going to facilitate them.
